Seems daft - but saves the endless vicious circle. You have 2, one dies. So you get a 'new' one, and then the other one dies, and so on, for ever and ever ..

My grandson`s friend had 2 rabbits, and they froze solid last winter.

The mother had heard (or seen .. with tunnel vision?) rabbits in outdoor hutches ..... so she allowed them to have rabbits.

Reminds me of the old gardener, who's had the same spade for over 50yrs. ..... he's only had to change the blade twice, and replace the handle three times.

Our rabbits lived in an outdoor hutch all year round and one lived to be 7 and the other 9 years old. You just had to go out a couple of times a day to thaw out their water bottles when it was really cold. (and make sure they have lots of hay.

They were dwarf rabbits too so theoretically not as hardy as the big ones.
