a few months ago we got some budgies and it now appears my partner has developed an allergy - she thinks so anyway

I would like to rehome them for about a week to see what happens.

Be aware that they do naturally make noise for short periods of the day, but are instantly quiet in the evening when the light starts to fade. A cage cover will be available.

The cage is 140cm high x 90 wide so can not sit on a shelf/book case etc.

That was about my thought too. Have had parakeets in the past, have had (indoor) cats in the past too, never both at the same time though and also, never one that has successfully hunted birds from a netted terrace either... but my "Bonny-cat Featherfoe" has caught two birds.

I'm afraid your little darlings wouldn't be safe in my house with Bonny, sorry! (Otherwise, I'd love to watch em for a bit)

We had budgies when I was a child. They can be noisy, true, but they're funny to look at. They're also quite clever.

If you have no other options, you may want to consider the Vogel Pension (Bird Hotel) in Zürich.
They have cages and food, all you need to do is take the birds. You need to make a reservation.
