I am trying to get a rough indication of:-
a. how much it costs to rough stable horses in canton Zurich; and
b. whether there is anywhere which is predominantly English speaking? Would there be any demand for such a place?

I believe the average is about 500 CHF per month but what you get for your money differs. In some stables this is full service in that it includes cleaning of stables and feeding horses but in other stables it does not.
Sorry, but I cannot help with English speaking stable recommendations in Zurich area as I ride in Zug.

depending on the offer stable costs range from 700 to 1500 Fr... if you just rent a place and do all the mucking out/feeding etc etc you can get a bit cheaper.
