I posted a few days ago about my beautiful baby girl Touka having lymphosarcoma and got lots of love and support for both of us. Thank you so much to everyone.

So sad for you. I know it's hard, but a peaceful end is a great way to end a happy life - she's a lucky girl to have such a wonderful family.

Its always so sad to hear these things, but take some solace in knowing your beloved dog is no longer in pain and discomfort.

Whenever I have had to give that final hug to one of my family (I have had 3 dogs in my life so far), afterwards I spend some time reminiscing about my favorite memories with my buddy, looking at pictures or watching videos. It has helped me immensely in the past.

Sorry to hear of your loss. When our dog had to 'go to sleep' because of cancer at 12 yo (german shephard), it was the hardest decision of my life. Felt like I was playing god, and I really didn't like it. But felt it was best for her, so she did not endure unnecessary suffering.

Given your posts, she must have lived a wonderful and full life filled with love, which she obviously reciprocated. May she continue to bless you through all your memories of her.

Sorry to hear about your loss, but also thankful for the great life you gave your dog.

I am so sorry, what a terrible day. Hopefully knowing what a great life she had will bring you some peace.

So sad when the have to go, and I feel for you. Our pets never leave us really, we have memories and pictures that always keep them with us.

That's really sad news, and I hope you are dealing with this OK.


I guess the important thing to remember now is that no matter how sad it is now, you did the right thing for her.

Making the decision is difficult, but you can rest assured that.... well, at least everyone on the forum understood the position you were in and supported your idea.

You did the right thing, so don't second guess yourself.

I'm so sorry to hear the sad news.


My best friend closed his eyes last night,
As his head was in my hand.
The doctors said he was in pain,
And it was hard for him to stand.
The thoughts that scurried through my head
As I cradled him in my arms,
Were of his younger, puppy years,
And Oh...his many charms.
Today, there was no gentle nudge,
With an intense "I love you" gaze,
Only a heart that's filled with tears
Remembering our joy-filled days.
But an Angel just appeared to me,
And he said, "You should cry no more,
God also loves our canine friends,
He's installed a doggy door!"

Oh, I'm so sorry, though you did the right thing for Touka. Wishing you comfort at this awfully sad time, my thoughts are with you. x
