| | | Sad day - cat with cancer
One of our cats has been sneezing a lot recently. It got worse over the past two weeks, and she lost a lot of weight quite suddenly. She doesn’t come upstairs anymore and spends most of her time on the couch, although she still has an appetite.
So I took her to the vet today to see what was going on.
Turns out she’s got lung cancer in both lungs, and is down to about 30% of lung capacity left. She’s not in any pain, but in the next few weeks she’ll begin to have trouble breathing… and then it’s time to say goodbye. They gave her a steroid injection today, but otherwise there’s nothing they can do.
At nearly 15, she’s no spring chicken. But it’s still tough to see her go downhill so quickly. And always hard to say goodbye to an old friend.
For now, she's getting lots of attention and all her favourite foods. And the best spot on the couch.
As always, the team at the Kleintierpraxis Sevogel have been fantastic.

I am sorry to hear this. My dear friend passed in June and it still tough. I miss her.
I know your girl will have the very best attention and love until the day comes when she will tell you she has enough. I wish you all the best with the few weeks left. Enjoy them and please, give her a big hug from me.

My sympathies on your sad news. We had to have our 16 year old friend put to sleep nearly 4 years ago now due to cancer. Like yours she was fine, then suddenly had a bad 24 hours when something happened and after that she started to lose weight and didn't eat much. We still miss her terribly and I long for the day when we're sorted out from moving house and we can get a new companion.
Our thoughts are with you and her.

Having three cats ourselves at present,I feel for your heartache
If my wife reads this thread she will freak a little, Tiger our oldest Australian short hair is 13 yrs and he to has started sneezing more than normal and has lost some weight too.
But he has been eating very well so,I told the wife not to worry about it.
Now I am thinking a vet visit soon

Eating well and losing weight may be the sign of some condition. You may want to have him checked, just to be sure. | Quote: | | | | | Having three cats ourselves at present,I feel for your heartache

I'm so very sorry, VI.
Cherish whatever time is left, live for the moment - as our furry friends do. Don't let thoughts of what is to come intrude on your enjoyment of today.
When the time comes may you be at peace, knowing what a wonderful life you have given your friend.
You and your kitty will be in our thoughts.
I am so, so sorry.

He looked after our dogs when we lived in the area. It is a while back but he was great then. He's probably just a little greyer...

She can't make it upstairs, but I'm going back down to have one more snuggle before saying goodnight.
(I guess I'd better check my hard-man persona at the door at this point, right?)

VI, I am so sorry. I think I know how you feel and I am crying now, as I am writing this, although my cat went to heaven almost 4 years ago.
All I can advise you is be with her as much as you can and show her how much you love her.
I am really sorry for these bad news. You are in my thoughts. Be strong.

I'm so sorry for your news, but glad that she seems not to be in any pain. Please give her a cuddle for me, and tell her that Bonny-cat Featherfoe says "maow".
