| | | It is cold for dogs to wait in front of supermarkets!
I was going to bring this puppy home I saw in front of a market. Dog cried and when I approached, I saw legs and all the body was shaking. I waited with the dog. Nobody came. Some people said it was there before they went into the market. I thought someone left it there. half an hour later, two children came. We waited together for another 10 minutes. Father came and said its just an animal, and a worker dog. Then he went back to market again. Another 10 minutes passed. We went into the supermarket and he was there. He got super angry when we complaint for leaving their dog and kids outside alone for such long time. He pushed us with his hands inside the supermarket when we said he tortured his dog and children. I just wanted to share this. I am sorry for the dog to have an owner like this. But what can I do...

I just think, people do here a lot of worse things to dogs, than just this.

Yes I can see that. If it is free to push someone in a public place, it is not impossible to imagine what they can do behind the doors :/

The second and third posts made Switzerland sound like it was a cruel nation in comparison to their own countries, which I don't buy.
And seriously, shouldn't the children be the number one priority here?

The children were properly dressed for the cold and not outside for as long as the dog, so they weren’t originally my first concern. But after seeing what a horrible man their father is, I am of course very worried for the children as well. I wasn’t aware of comparing countries. This situation would have been bad and could have happened anywhere.

I was appalled tonight when I was about to walk into a shop tonight and found a shivering gorgeous dog with a bandanna around his neck trying to get inside the nice and warm premises. I was told, he was just a dog and he had fur....What about his paws, nose, etc.?
Where does humanity start or where does it stop?

Is there a way to cover dogs who are forced to wait outside of stores etc. with something warm? Whenever I see dogs like that I feel like giving them a huge thick blanket to wrap themselves in while hoping that the owners didn't take the dog out just because they wanted to have fun - without the dog - in a warm location e.g. shopping mall/restaurant, but because there was no possibility to leave the dog at home or at a friend's where it is nice and warm.

I also don't like to see dogs shivering, but aren't they just as cold when they're taken outside to take a poo poo?

I'm assuming that you're politely asking me to mind my own business and I shouldn't bother reading these threads.
Well, thanks for the suggestion. I'm looking forward to reading more of your insights on this forum..... if you don't mind, of course.

Well, I'm actually from the northern part of "I Mind Just My Ass Land" and it's really quite a lovely place. | | The following 5 users would like to thank Carrie F for this useful post: | |

They burn calories while walking. That dog had a very nice coat but that doesn't help not shivering if they have to stand on naked paws for more than half an hour. 2 minute is enough actually. I looked for some cardboards.. I wish supermarkets could do something about it.

Our rabbits freeze their asses and paws off throughout the winter and are no worse for wear (they live outside).

My dog is a tiny mosquito, and she gets cold very quickly in winter, even though I do not let her alone outside a shop ( ). I've been considering buying her a little coat for quite some time, but I think dogs wearing one look sooooo stupid... I mean, my dog is an animal, not a handbag. But if it really helps keeping them warm, I might consider getting her one.
Any experience out there?
