Re: Cooling vests for dogs

Well I finally got some use out of the cooling mat - in the car, on the long drive to the clinic.

Even with the air on, when crawling slowly through the endless street works or stopped in traffic jams the car gets too hot for the Belltie. (He has serious respiratory disease.) So I put the cooling mat in the fridge for a couple hours then in the car. He actually lay on it the whole trip, seemed happy to have it.

The mat stayed cool for the hour we were on the road. But I think that is it's limit. To be really effective I'd need a way to cool it again for the return journey.

Such a pretty pup! I've got a corgi mix and just to let you know, he didn't swim his whole first summer but this summer he is a total fish!

Re: Cooling vests for dogs

The vest has been a huge relief! No more heavy panting . I'd recommend one to any dog struggling with heat.

(We do not go out for more than 30 mins during the day. The vest dries out in 40-50 mins.)

Oh my how she has grown! A proper young lady now.

Glad the vest has worked out.
