I want to buy a pet something like a turtle or a fish. I know there are fishes in Manor but is there a shop selling pets around Basel? It will be good if i can find small turtles

I am not from Basel, but I read some aquaristics forums yesterday (my husband wants aquarium...) I think people from Basel recommend: Zoo Hohl (Allschwil - near Basel), Zoo Fasler (Muttenz - near Basel), Zoo Goldfisch (Güterstrasse, Basel), Zoo Tropic (Burgfelderplatz, Basel) (http://www.zoo-tropic.ch/), Fressnapf (http://www.fressnapf.ch/filialen.html?kanton=basel), Qualipet (http://www.qualipet.ch/?seite=standorte&ids=10) and I think there is also one Zoo-shop somewhere near Bahnhof in Basel.

Zoo-something (tropic?) (walk out the "back door" (MediaMarkt end) of BaselSBB, turn left, walk ~ 800m) has a few different animals. Lots of snakes and spiders too. Can't remember how many fish they had, fish don't make my skin crawl.

Few birds and lizards too. I'm sure there was at least a few fish.

There's quite a big pet shop near the SBB main station in Basel, in the small shopping arcade that has an FCB fanshop amongst other things. The shop is in 2 parts opposite each other.

There is also a largish pet store in Oberwil, almost opposite Kestenholz Mercedes and next to the Coop DIY store and Wyss garden centre

Hi... just for future reference.. use something like leo.org to translate the stuff you are looking for.. i.e. pets - haustier.. then use local.ch/en and it will find the shops you need...

ps I can recommend Qualipet in Oberwil.. big shop, lots of choice

we go to a pet shop in Saint Louis in France just 5 mins from the border control. Its really easy to find and you will get your Turtles there and there is a huge selection of fish...cold Water and Tropical. It is well worth the short trip....Sorry cannot think of the name but will send it to you, as i am going again this week

if they have turtles then it will be good if you can remember the name of this pet shop in st. louis.
hopefully they do not have any snakes around because i cannot even look at them

Hi Dimli. The pet shop i told you about in Saint Louis is called Nilufar. I went today and they have Turtles in at the min.......The bad news is...there located close to the Snakes Dont worry though i think there was only 1 snake and it wasnt visable I will PM you with the directions...Linda.

Great, cant's wait to get my turtles. As long as the snake stays inside its aquarium should be fine
