On Monday Shaheen was 3 weeks old and I spent half the day working on the farm. Something clearly spooked the horses here as they made a dash back to the stable (luckily I had my camera in my pocket). Poor Shaheen must have been sleeping in the grass and couldn't keep up. You might want to pump the volume up on this as the little one is complaining quite loudly at being left behind | | The following 12 users would like to thank grumpygrapefruit for this useful post: | Begga, bigblue2, crimson, Dougal's Breakfast, Feeper, isha, MathNut, meloncollie, Mrs. Doolittle, möpp, Oldhand, Sky |

Shaheen, who was born here this spring, is clearly becoming our star colt. He's already got some serious fans in the Arabian horse world.... he really is our "Rising Star"! He's only 5 months old but has amazing presence... his brown foal fluff has almost gone and it looks like he will be a silver/fawn colour when fully grown.
I need to add..... revisiting this thread and remembering all the ups and downs, joy and heartache, that we have been through in over three years, this post is the one that stands out, it gives us the best, and worst, memories of all.

Not a very happy update I'm afraid. We took Rheema and Shaheen (the boy born erlier this year) to a friends stable in southern Germany last week with a view to selling them. Rheema had a bit of stiffness in her leg and a local vet has found a tumour in her knee joint. He should be able to remove it quite easily, but if it's a nasty one, and has spread into the bone or blood, well, it's not good at all.
Fingers crossed please everyone.

So sorry to hear about Rheema, I sincerely hope the tumour hasn't spread, she is a beautiful horse and it would be a real shame if it has. All fingers crossed here.

Oh GG, I'm so sorry to hear this.
All fingers and toes are firmly crossed, and thumbs pressed for good measure, that the tumor can be removed.
Hoping for the best for your beautiful girl.

And of course, I was reminded about this thread because it's that time of year again. This little fella was born at 2 this morning and is doing very well. We can't believe that we've now had 7 colts and only 1 filly but he is special as it looks like he'll be all black apart from a white star on his forehead and one white hoof. He's the first foal we've had from a stallion other than our own, a very famous chap currently stabled near Prague. I'll post more photos and videos at the weekend.
