He's about 3 - 4 hours old here. Boy, is he hungry! We've got the same problem as last year in that Tiffy is not happy feeding him yet, so I'm having to milk her and bottle feed for the first crucial 18 hours or so.
and a little video, just 40 minutes old after he just managed to stand up (he fell over again just after this of course) | | The following 15 users would like to thank grumpygrapefruit for this useful post: | Begga, Deep Purple, Dougal's Breakfast, E. All the best to the whole Grapefruit family, humans and critters alike. | | | | | They're both doing very well and the little one is now drinking direct from Tiffy. We'll be fine after a drink and a good nights sleep. | Quote: | | | | | I like his tail and mane. Well done to the mare! | | | | | His mane is delightfully curly. What is also special is that he hasn't got any markings which is pretty rare and all 4 hoofs are the same silvery fawn as his legs.
He'll be put outside tomorrow to meet the rest of the family but unfortunately I'll be out all day at the market. The OT better get some good photos!

What's the result - a name or a hangover?

What's the result - a name or a hangover? | | | | | Well, it could have been Amarone, but we decided on Rashid. I've been working night and day since he was born and missed most of his first few days, a couple of pics here though taken Sunday, his first time outside .....
.... but I've had most of today working at the stable and spending quality time with him. I took this video of him this morning (only 6 days old!), he's full of beans and desperate to get out onto the fields and run around. He's quite a handfull, he's managed to get out through one part of fencing 3 times already and is not worried about being separated from Tiffy, he's also tried to kick me 3 times already to see where he stands. I'll leave it another week before I let him know for sure with a kick back!

He certainly looks energetic and adventurous. It appears that he could get out if he was so inclined but seems to know that the fence is there for a reason. | |
