Adopting a shelter cat in CH

Hi all,

I would like to adopt a shelter cat and am wondering if anyone has done that here and can give me the lowdown.

First: how much does it cost, what paperwork is involved, what shots are required and does the shelter take care of the neutering/spaying and shots before you adopt?

Second, and more complicated: what are the rules regarding moving into an EU country (Germany, specifically) with a cat adopted in Switzerland?

Third, and more complicated yet: what are the rules regarding traveling to and from the US with a cat adopted in Switzerland?

Thanks!!

Erin
