I brought my cat to Switzerland... now what?

Hi! I recently moved to Switzerland to join my fiancé who already lives here. I brought my cat with me from Italy. All my cat required to leave Italy and enter Switzerland was rabies vaccination, microchip and a EU pet passport.

Now, what should I next? In order to get the microchip and pet passport my cat was registered in Italy in the archive managed by the veterinary office that controls pet population. I know that now I need to contact them to inform them the cat has now been brought to Switzerland and is no longer in Italy, but is there something I should do in Switzerland as well?

Is there something like a "pet population control" office in Switzerland too where I should register my cat? Should I simply find a vet and inform him/her?

Also, do I need to pay taxes for my cat in Switzerland?

Thanks in advance!

You can now register him by ANIS (Animal identity service)
My vet did actually that for us but I don't remember how much it costed (so it must not have been much).
A part from that, which is no compulsory but simply for your peace of mind, there is nothing else to do!

Seems to vary from canton to canton. In my canton you register your dog and pay dog tax but there's no need to anything with a cat. You can double check with a vet or your local town hall.

Thank you very much for the answers!

Is there some kind of list of vets in my canton I can check somewhere? I'm having a surprisingly hard time finding a vet in my town for some reason. I checked the yellow pages.

I'm surprised. Most communes have a vet where I live and I'm in the countryside. MY experience is they all list in yellow pages so maybe it's a question of selecting the one closest to you. Again, you could ask at your local town hall. Which town do you live in?

Thanks for the links! There seems to be none in my area, but I located one which is not too far away and that I can reach by foot (I don't drive unfortunately).
