| | | Missing Cat in Zurich - Help! [she's been found!]
My husband and I went out this morning to the gym. We did not air our apartment this morning. We came back this afternoon - and our cat, Ashland, was gone.
She's chipped and wears a collar. Unfortunately, her collar tag has our info in Chicago on it. Question: How does one report such a thing? Is flyering done here? Who do we report her missing to?
My heart is breaking at the moment. My only hope is that she somehow snuck out behind us (no idea how, she's never done that before) and one of our neighbors picked her up.
In case you wanted to know what she looks like, she's black and white with yellow eyes. She wears a blue collar and has a saggy belly... and is a bit short of leg. She is very talkative and frequently sounds like Marge Simpson. She's also a bit of a nutter, but we love her very much and want her back.
Any and all help would be EXTREMELY WELCOME!

Print flyers with her picture and your phone number on and stick them on lamp posts. Worked for us. Good luck...

When we first moved here, our cat got out through a small crack in the window. She crawled through the gutter of our large apt complex and went into a window of another apt. We put up flyers and also put them in the mailboxes.
We got a call a day later. Talk with your neighbors. People are very understanding about losing a pet.
I just looked at the photo and your cat is small - look in apt. I thought my car had rubber bones as he could fit in such little places sometimes
Good luck to you. Let us know what happens.

Best of luck finding your adorable kitty!
Have you checked in every possible nook and cranny in the apartment? I thought I lost mine a couple of years ago, but he was hiding in a place that I definitely didn't think was kitty-sized.
Also check inside your building, knock on everyone's door if you think she got out behind you but could still be in the building (heck, even if you think she could have left the building).
You'll find some more tips here on a thread about it when my kitty hid so well, I thought he was gone: Lost Cat - What Now? [Basel]
Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

Thank you all. Just when we thought we'd gotten to every nook and cranny of our very small apartment...
Ashland somehow wedged herself into the stuffing of the lounge chair and is refusing to come out. She gave her location up by being a very loud licker.
What a mentalist.
Anyway, thank you all again... now I don't have to run around the busy street we're on, fearing she's been hit. We can call off the search party!

Oh, I'm so glad she's ok!! There's nothing worse than the panic you feel when you believe they're gone. I live on a very busy street, too, and had the same thoughts.
Try and find out how she got in there, and block that access |

I lost my cat a couple of months ago, checked the entire building, cellar, out into the street, around the block etc etc. He was between our two pillows, under the duvet of a tautly made bed so there was no lump, fast asleep. | | | | | You can register your cat by her microchip number at ANIS.
That what we did with our cat following our vet advice.

Hello, my cat did not return home on Sunday. She has been living in our flat for 7 years, in- and out-door since we have large gardens around our house. Our neighbors like to pet her but do not feed her. I do not know what to do other then posting posters around. Would anyone give an advise? My cat has a collar with a capsule and my number there but no microchip.

First I would suggest you post a NEW thread, with a title other than (has been found!!), which is pretty misleading.
Yes, posting flyers is a good idea. Also check the websites for missing animals.
Check this post: Tips on How To Report a Lost or Found Pet
And walk around, calling her name and listen. Sometimes, cats get stuck in closed places, like garage etc.
Good luck! I imagine how devastating this must be. | Quote: | | | | | Hello, my cat did not return home on Sunday. if it's not first time don't worry cats are smart enough remember their home if they didn't go so far from that. But check around during day .take a snack she like and call her when she smell food and hear you she will react .is too cold outside and I think she should find a warm place for herself so check all of place around your home which can be silent area and more hot for her
