Re: Pet Sitting Network

Dog sitting (exchange) needed 5-16 of May 2016
Hey,
Who would like to do pet sitting exchange?
I need someone, who can take care about my two girls (riesenschnauzer and english cocker) during my holidays from 5-16 of May.

I have a lot of experience with breeding, grooming, training. And I am professionally working as "hundesitter" in Switzerland. I have done SKN course, I have self employed status, professional insurance and etc.
But I also need holidays sometimes and I am looking who can help me! For exchange I can take care about your pet when you go for holidays, because I live in the house, I have experience even with complicated dogs.

My dogs are not complicated. Riesenschnauzer is strong female, but very smart and educated (but better you have a male, not strong big female, otherwise need to know how to deal with it). If you have kids-better that they do not afraid of dogs, because then my girl feels it. But she never do something stupid and never attacks.
Cocker is absolutely a toy.But she afraid of kids so she can hide all the time from them.

I can bring my dogs to your place, doesn't matter where you live (SG or Zurich area).
And I promise a good place and care about your dogs when you need!

Re: Pet Sitting Network

Hello, we are planning a long distance travel around May 12-25, 2016 and want to see if Choo Choo is able to stay with another family during the time. We also welcome other friends to stay with us while you're away. Please let us know if you're interested!

Type of animal: Dog
Breed: Pug
Age of animal: 7
Animal spayed? No
Gender: Female

Your environment
House / Apartment? Apartment
Garden? We have a large park behind our apartment where all the neighbourhood dogs gather to play and walk!
Any other pets? No
Your location: Schlieren/Zurich-Altstetten

Any other information
Hello! My name is Choo Choo. I am a 7 year old female pug from the U.S. I love people and other dogs, and can live peacefully with cats. I love FOOD and sleeping next to/on you or just lying on the sofa/bed. Everyone at the park says I am calm and quiet. But, I can also show you few tricks and do the fetch endless times as long as you have food in your hand. I have stayed with other friends while my owners were gone without any problem. The hosts have called me "a love bug"

Re: Pet Sitting Network

Hi all,

I realise this is a long-shot, but I'm heading back to New Zealand to visit my family from the 2 - 27 January.

It would be wonderful if someone could look after our sweet little dog, Harry during this time. We would be happy to return the favour and Harry loves children, cats and other dogs.

Type of animal: Dog
Breed: Yorkshire Terrier/Poodle cross
Age of animal: he will be 1y 5m at the time
Animal spayed? Yes
Gender: Male

Your environment
House / Apartment? Apartment
Garden? We have a balcony and a lot of farmland around us where dogs can be off the leash and play together
Any other pets? No
Your location: Meilen, Zürich

Any other information
Harry is a playful pup who loves to be around people and other dogs. He thinks everyone is his friend and doesn't hold any grudges (even against dogs who have previously had a go at him - he has 0 sense of self preservation ). He's pretty small, around 30cm at the shoulder so he won't take up a lot of space, and he loves nothing better than having a frolic off the leash and then snoozing on the couch at night while you watch TV. We'd be happy to drop him off and pick him up and we'd also be happy to pay towards his board as we understand it is a long time. Ideally it would be someone based close-ish to us so we can meet up and Harry can get to know you, your kids and/or other pets.

If you're interested or would like to meet up to see if it would work out, please let me know!

Re: Pet Sitting Network

I would love to join the pet sitting network!

Not a pet owner here myself but missing the animals I have left on my family farm at home and looking to offer up my apartment, and my love and attention, to anyone looking to leave their dog(s) in keen hands: I am desperately missing my best buddies back home (two labradors and one welsh cardiganshire corgi) and would love the chance to spend some quality canine time! I've grown up on a farm since I was born so I am well versed in dogs, cats, horses, sheep, geese, hens, you name it, but not sure I can squeeze all of them into my apartment here in Basel...

Your environment
House / Apartment? Apartment
Garden? No, but I live directly by a park
Any other pets? No
Your location: Basel

Please get in touch if looking for a pet sitter in the area!

Re: Pet Sitting Network

Hi all,
Excellent idea. I already have a small network of new friends over here with dogs that we exchange when holidays or home visits come along where we can't take our dog, but the more the merrier
here are our details

House/Apartment apartment
Garden? Yes, and a balcony
Any other pets? No
Location. Pfaffikon, Schwyz 8808 (30 mins on train from Zurich)

Type of animal. Dog
Breed Labrador
Age of animal 10 years
Spayed/neutered Yes

Alan is a 10 year old yellow Labrador, very well behaved and goes mostly everywhere with us. He's very good with other dogs and children of all ages but weary of cats.
I usually walk him a couple of hours each day. Obviously, if I was looking after someone else's dog that didn't have such long legs I wouldn't go as far.
We have woods close to us, another favourite walk from our home is the bridge over to Rapperswil. I'm at home all day as I don't work.
I have had dogs for the past 20 years, mainly springer spaniels and labs

Happy to help anyone if you're in the Zurich or Pfaffikon 8808 area. Please feel free to get in touch
Deb

Re: Pet Sitting Network

Hi all,

I thought I'd give this thread a shot.

My husband and I are going on a work trip overseas from 4-20 July. We were hoping to find someone who could take care of our cat during that time in their own home. My in-laws are staying in our apartment while we are gone and unfortunately they are not cat people.

The problem is that our cat is not great with other cats so she'd have to be a single cat or separated from other cats some how. BTW, we could reciprocate cat sitting in the future at our home because we can partition our apartment or if you're somewhat close by we can visit your home too.

Type of animal: Cat
Breed: Siamese
Age of animal: 10
Animal spayed? Yes
Gender: Female

My environment
House / Apartment? Apartment
Garden? Yes
Any other pets? No
Your location: Zürich (Höngg)

Any other information
Mishu is a full-figured 10 year old Siamese cat from the US, who is severely food obsessed (not human food, only cat food). Aside from food, she likes to be a part of human conversations and snuggle up to you in the middle of the night. She also enjoys chasing after things that get inside the house. She is an indoor-only cat and is too afraid to go outside. She's up-to-date on her vaccinations.

Looking for potential dog sitter (someone with small, calm dog) I could swap with or pay. Specifically I need someone July 14-18. I will be in Zürich until October 9. My dog is extremely calm/quiet/well-behaved, but he does not tolerate puppies or dogs that push him around. He is fine with cats.

Also looking for someone nearby (ideally walking distance) with a larger dog I could run or take for hikes on weekends or evenings . Or a smaller dog I could walk along with my dog.

Re: Pet Sitting Network

Hello all
I am new to the forum, and to Switzerland - - and I have a really urgent need to arrange a dog sitting swap - - it's for a month, so I can also pay something in addition to offering to care for your fur baby(ies) while you are on holiday in the future. I grew up with many pets - dogs, cats, rabbits, even goats at one point! I love animals and am very trustworthy and reliable. I also have a car.

We are going to the US to visit family from 18 July - 18 August. Here are Mollie's details:

My Pet
Type of animal: dog
Breed: mixed , 5kg, her picture is my profile pic
Age: about 7 years old, she was a rescue, so we aren't sure exactly.
Animal spayed: yes
Gender: female

My environment
Apartment with a nice balcony for sunning, near to many nice places to take doggies for walks
Garden: no
Any other pets: no, just Mollie
Your location: Männedorf

Any other information:
Mollie is really good, and has been watched by several friends, family, and acquaintances over the years - - everyone said they had no problems with her, and fell completely in love with her. Twice she stayed with a cat owner with no problems, and I had another (very large) dog previously, and they were the best of friends. She has to be walked on a leash, since she might try to chase birds, etc... Other than that, she is low energy, and only needs to be fed once a day and taken out for a couple short walks - although she always appreciates longer excursions ;-)

Thanks everyone in advance for any help or suggestions you can provide!
Nicole

Re: Pet Sitting Network

Hi Everyone,

This is a great idea! And I look forward to meeting many new friends; human and furry / feathery!
We are going on holiday for 3 three weeks and need someone to look after our cats.

Your pet
Type of animal: 2 black cats
Age of animal: 12 years
Animal spayed? yes
Gender: male and female

Your environment
House / Apartment? Apartment
Garden? no but large balcony
Any other pets? no
Your location: Solothurn

Any other information
Eddie and Bella are siblings and we got them not too long ago. They are 12 years old and house cats. Eddie is like a dog really, always ready for a rub or a good scratch. he is very friendly and will literally go with anyone who feeds him. Bella is rather shy and very nervous but really has the sweetest personality once she gets to know you. Eddie is good with children but Bella is rather nervous around them.

Please let me know if anyone is willing to look after them for three weeks. We will be happy to pay something extra as well.

Thanks!

Re: Pet Sitting Network

I'd like to join this network as well. We're in Cham and would be available for pet sitting cats at your home and we're looking for someone who could return the favour by taking care of our two cats in our home.

Your pet
Type of animal: Cat (2 of them)
Breed: Russian Blue
Age of animal: 2 and 1
Animal spayed: both
Gender: female both

Your environment
House / Apartment: Apartment
Garden: No (they are strictly indoor cats)
Any other pets: No
Your location: Cham, ZG

Any other information
Our two cats are Olive and Jade, both Russian Blue girls. As all of their breed they are very shy with strangers, but once they get to know you you won't be able to get them off. Olive is smaller (although older) and delicate, she loves to cuddle while also being independent, while Jade is more like a mini-panther, always on the prowl and likes to sleep as close to your face as possible so she can kiss you at will .

We will be away between 12-15 August and a friend of ours who was supposed to pet-sit them can't do it anymore unfortunately so we're looking for someone to come to our place once a day and feed them, clean the litterbox and maybe play with them (once they'll get to know you a bit). We're happy to also pay as well as return the favor.

Also, as mentioned in the beginning, if you're in Kanton Zug or around and need someone to take care of your cat(s) at your place, let me know.

Thanks!

looking for a cat sitter 29.07-15.08 Basel

Hi Guys!
this is a lovely idea! I would be willing to cat sit for you in the exchange for the same for my kitty. I am currently looking for someone who could take care of him 29.07 -15.08 while we are on holiday.
Please message me if you think you could help or if you need help yourself during different dates.

Your pet
Type of animal: cat named Piorun
Breed: mix
Age of animal: 2
Animal spayed: yes
Gender: male

Your environment

Apartment
no garden, but I do have a balcony
Any other pets: no
Your location: Basel, 4056

Any other information
My cat is black and very friendly. He likes to be around people. He adjusts to new places well, therefore there would be no problem if he stays at somebody elses place. He likes to play a little (he is only 2) but for the most part he is just calm and cuddly. He is litter box trained and does not make much trouble. It would be lovely if someone would be willing to take care of him while im away.
My appartment has no possibility of going out for the cat, therefore he is just stays indoors.

Have lovely summer!
Gosia
