American Cocker Spaniel

I have recently moved to Zürich and I am extremely interested in buying a pure bred American Cocker Spaniel puppy. Does anyone have any knowledge of local breeders that I could research? I see many English Cockers and King Charles Spaniels, but they are not of interest to me. Thank you very much.

Hi, why not check out the rescues first to see if you can find suitable one? Here is the main portal for adoptions here in Switzerland:
http://www.tierschutz.ch/cms/index.php

Alternatively, there is a cocker spaniel rescue in Germany and they might have an American cocker spaniel

http://www.cocker-tierschutz.de/

And finally, this is the Cocker Spaniel Club of Switzerland. All the registered breeders are listed under Züchter and there are only 3 recognised breeders of American Cocker spaniels through out Switzerland:

http://www.spaniel-club.ch/

Finally, just a tip - seeing that you are new to Switzerland, do a search on the forum with regards to the laws of dog ownership here and also, check out the BVET website on compulsory courses you need to take with your dog. Good luck in your search!

Hi cmerblum,

I spotted this fellow on Ricardo. He's not a puppy any more (5 yrs) but looks like a sweetheart deserving a good new home.

Re: American Cocker Spaniel

A senior dog can, and will, bring you and your schnauser so much happiness. Generally speaking, they have already learned the ropes, and are so appreciative if somebody is willing to give them a second chance. My little Rookie was three years old when he became a member of our family, and after two or three days with us, settled in to his/our routine.

Good luck in your search! Please let us know the outcome.
