Here I am again, been away from the forum for a short while being busy!

I am in the pet sitter network but cannot post specific requests for dog sitting periods there (anymore) so I hope I post this at the right place.

Right now I am looking for 3 weeks of holiday care for my cute Pip, a 2 year old black Labrador. I will PM a few people I have had contact with before but also put it on here. I am looking for a dog sitter from 23 July until 6 august and 8 august until 12 August. So for 2 or 3 weeks..

I have been looking at kennels and professional care but beside the costs I do not really like the feeling. I rather see him in a family home getting lots of cuddles etc. Definitely want to reciprocate and therefore I look for a swap family/families who are not tied to school holidays and also own a Labrador (or something like it - with same character - because of the kids) themselves. But if you love dogs but are not able to have one all the time and love to cuddle one for 2-3 weeks feel free to respond.

Pip is a real sweetheart. Even non dog lovers are quite fond of him. He listens well and is usually very quiet in the house. After being away or when we start walking he is of course very wild and enthusiastic. He never ever growled at the kids and is easy with other dogs - since he gets his "spay-spray" every 6 months there is nothing dominant in him.

Has a big preference for other labs to play with. He will get older dogs to play who usually not play anymore - making those dog owners very happy.

ANyway, if you like to have a very sweet lab for 2 (or 3) weeks and if you have time and interest for daily walks (and a good vacuum cleaner cause he does shed some hairs..) please respond per PM and then we can meet.

Hey max, the reason why specific requests have been moved is to keep the thread clean and manage its size due to overwhelming interest. The best way is to scroll through the profiles and pm owners who have a similar home environment/pet size/temprament to yours. One of them who comes to mind is fellow member, argus - she has a lovely black lab.

@ Peg: Pip is usually OK with cats: has been in cats homes before and when the cats run he will chase them, until I say no, if the cats stay put he will have great respect.... But saying that, I have a bit of an allergy so I will then not be able to reciprocate...

Hi how is your dog with other dogs? I will be home studying from august so am availible for any dogsitting i have a border collie called hally shes very friendly when with other dogs in the house and loves to play and walk with other dogs. I have had a lab stay with us before and hally was very happy to have him stay with us.
