Special home needed for a special cat

Hi all,

After much thought and soul searching I am looking for a home with a garden for my lovely boy Sandy. He is six years old neutered and his vaccinations will be upto date.

He loves humans and would be best as a single cat as he likes all the fuss and cuddles to himself, he will need regular outdoor access rather than being stuck on a third floor balcony. Ideally he needs someone who has knowledge of longhaired cats as he requires regular grooming.

Please pm me for details, would love to see him with garden access as soon as possible.

Re: Special home needed for a special cat

Hi Cris,
Sadly no one has shown any interest in taking him on. He is a lovely boy, but he really needs somewhere with a garden.I think it will address his stress issues. We have a pet remedy plug in but don't think its helping much. My two other girls seem quite happy here when he is not bullying them but he is only doing that due to stress. If I cannot find him a home Im not sure what else we can try really.

Re: Special home needed for a special cat

Bumping this up as we still need a home for Sandy, he is getting so stressed out and its only a matter of time before the land lady starts issuing threats. We cannot let him go out because when we have taken him downstairs we have someone knocking on the door telling us its not right to let him out, wish they would mind their own business really.

He is a beautiful boy who deserves to have the happy outside life he wants. He is very people orientated and young enough to make a great pet without all the toilet training issues you get with a kitten.

Re: Special home needed for a special cat

He's beautiful. I really really wish I could take him. In fact, I'd take all the babies who need homes. But my dog hates all other creatures. It could be a blessing in disguise!

Have you tried to put up an ad at the supermarket or the local vet?

Anyway, I hope he finds a home soon.

Sorry, I don't think I can help at all, but just out of interest: What exactly is the issue with your landlady and why do people say it's not right to let your cat out? I don't really understand what's the problem here.

He is very vocal, purely because he is desperate to go out, and our apartment is not very sound proof.

Our neighbours just love to interfere, Sandy likes to go and sit in the garden but we have people call at our apartment and say he shouldnt be out,we are too close to the road, but he is not interested in getting near the road, he usually strolls around the rockeries and watches the world go by. I was sorely tempted to put a notice in the hall saying,he is allowed out, we are aware of the road issue but he is too stressed indoors!

Re: Special home needed for a special cat

Is it possible to take him out on a lead? Or at least be with him while he is outside?
I hope you can find a solution, good luck, he is a beautiful cat.

We have done that but he wants to be out ALL the time, and he just sits and cries.I spoke to one neighbour yesterday who constantly moans explained to him that the land lady will not allow a ramp and the front door is locked all day so even if he went out he would not be able to get back in. Thinking of putting a notice in the hall so everyone knows whats what.Plead for some patience while we sort this out for him, had a few interested people but I think some find his size intimidating and a few have said they would worry he would get stolen.
