| | | Looking for chocolate labrador breeder...
Hi everyone
We're looking for a chocolate lab puppy - I have found (what seems) quite a good breeder in Ticino but haven't spotted anything closer to Zurich. Am looking for the typical "blocky head" if that makes any sense. Having said that have car and am willing to travel to fetch it the dog is worth his Epol.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.
thanks

Papa goose and I were talking about this last night. There doesnt appear to be any breeders of choc labs in Switzerland, and the one you found in Ticino, doesnt breed that often. You may be better looking in Germany or Holland at the moment. I have a choc lab, which i brought with me from Holland. If you do find a breeder of choc labs, let me know please. | | This user would like to thank KarlN for this useful post: | |

Here is the website of the Retriever Club Schweiz, the body that governs the breeding of Labs, Goldies, Tollers, Chesapeakes Flat and Curly Coated Retrievers within the SKG in Switzerland: http://www.retriever.ch/
And here is the list of breeders who currently have Lab puppies: Rb is male chocolate, Hb is female chocolate. http://web.retriever.ch/downloads/listen/wurf_labi.pdf
And here is the list of breeders who are expecting litters soon: http://web.retriever.ch/downloads/listen/deck_labi.pdf
I know absolutely nothing about breeding nor anything about any of these breeders.
Whoever you choose, do make sure the parents are properly health checked, and that you understand the lines and the ethics of the breeder.
You would best be guided by PapaGoose; he certainly knows the breed - and good breeding - inside and out.

Apparently he already has -- and they're two beautiful grown-up girls. |

Did someone call
As Karl said, we talked about this just last night. Not sure the prices people want is reflected in the quality of the pup (IMHO) when I looked around last year. France is also a dead loss, but as Karl said Holland or Germany may be better, but I have no experience of the markets there.
Good luck with the searches, and check the links provided by meloncollie, and if you want any help you can pm me .
Or, if Harry eats another ski glove he may be available

Right now he's pre-occupied with the thought of a trip to Fressnapf, so I'll check the ad's board for the OP, see if any chocies are listed.... but I would'nt hold my breath.

Sent you a PM, but in short it would appear a lot! From my looking last year, I didn't come accross anything that would tempt me to buy here, but that was then.
