USB3.0 is backwards compatible with USB2.0 and USB1.0 however you will not benefit from the significantly fast transfer rates unless you plug this into a suitable USB 3.0 port on your PC.

Was used to house a 2Tb HD (not included) so I know it can support this size of drive. It might be able to support larger however I cannot say for certain.
