As an American, I didn't even know who the f--k Robbie Williams was until I moved to Europe.

Anybody care to explain the moderate to all encompassing obsession with him over here on the other side of the pond.

Not my words, and I can't remember now who said them or who about, but the best explanation would be something like

"Girls want him, blokes want to be like him"

Really? Why?

Don't know about other people, but I grew up in same area as him (yes I grew up near Stoke ) so he was the local idol (Stoke isn't exactly brimming with famous people) and as I was only a teenager when Take That made it big I did have a schoolgirl crush on him

However, have since gone off him in a major way and for me and my sister who is going to gig with me its more about reliving our mispent childhood!

Well all my exes have been of the opinion that he is "a bit of rough who scrubs up quite well", but still has the wide boy charm that I hear ladies find so attractive.

And, I wouldn't complain at having a phenomenal singing voice, a record deal, and being famous enough to sell 3 sell-out gigs at Knebworth and a rock star lifestyle. Plus, he's not ginger

I've read articles about him trying to "break" America, but he's obviously been unsuccessful. We already have enough pop-poo coming outta the US, I don't think we need anymore.

As he's a blokes bloke. Bit of a womaniser, spends his money to get F'd and generally has a great time of it.

I'm informed that he has a nice body aswell, which maybe to the appeal to women, then again he earns over $500k a year. So it maybe that.

Some of his stuff is very good, his new album is shite to use the local expression.

I think mums like to mother him, he has that messed up lost little boy appeal - I'm not a mum and no I don't want to mother him but I wouldn't kick him out of bed hehe he may kick me out though
