I am selling my 2002 Impreza outback Sport. The engine is a 2.5L with 170hp. The car was originally imported from Canada. It has 190,000km. The car was imported approx Feb 2010. The 160,000 service was done (timing belt, water pump). It has a new alternator and battery (6months old). The car is in good shape but will need a few things to make it in excellent condition. 2 or all 4 tires and a tune up (it has a bit of hesitation from time to time). The clutch is approx 50% still left (mechanic told me a year ago).

Priced to go for 2500CH.

Is the car registered in Switzerland , and when is the MFK due ?

The car has already been imported into CH. The last MFK
was when it was imported (see original post). Someone
may be able to clarify if Zurich calls cars in every 2 or 3 years,
so MFK could be due soon or a year from now.

I bought the car in 2003 with 14000 and was the only driver.
It also has no major accidents. There was one minor fender
bender and the back bumper was fixed approx 5-6 years ago.
There are some small chips and scratches like any car of that
age.

MFK is basically due NOW - IE Feb 2012 - and would need one when bought by a new owner.

The price is extremely fair - a buyer has no idea of the work that will need to be done for the MFK - it might be 10chf chassis clean (DIY) or 1500chf of work at a garage.

Subarus of similar vintage, body style, power - start at 2,900chf on Autoscout - with a similar Swiss spec car being around 7,000chf.

Ken: i could see similar cars from around 6 -7 K didnt see any from 2.9K... got any links?

For Anwar its prob best you have a fresh MFK before trying to sell the car as the MFK is due you will get a letter at some point or just phone the STVA to arrange.

Am sorely tempted - PM me if you get the MFK done.

Its consumes Petrol (Benzin), air and maybe a little bit of oil too... depending on the amount of Km's you put on it - - sorry couldn't resist

A quick chat with the seller and this car is being sold without an MFK so the new owner will have to get that done and as you say it could be nothing, it could also be a lot of things - good luck for the person who buys it without the MFK

Import, old, no MFK - nope - you've priced it spot on (IMHO). If you do struggle to sell - talk to Zurlinden Garage (google is your friend). He might offer you a sensible sum.
