Offer to exchange Orange contract (including iPhone 4)

Since we will be leaving Switzerland shortly, we have an offer to exchange an Orange Subscription (optionally including an iPhone 4 as well).
subscription: 90 mins, 1GB data, 0 sms
subscription cost: 50 CHF/month
subscription valid till May 2013
We will take care of the administrative costs to change the name of the contract owner. The change can take place around the mid of March.
We can offer to pay for 2 months (i.e. 100 CHF) so that the new owner only pays for 1 year (i.e. May 2012 - May 2013).
iphone specifications iphone 4, 16GB, black, took out with the contract starting in May 2011. iPhone is in excellent condition.
If someone is interested in the iphone as well, We can offer that for 300 CHF (negotiable) Please PM if interested.

Re: Offer to exchange Orange contract (including iPhone 4)

I would say that if a person wants a plan for 12 months (May 2012-May 2013) it is a good deal. I have attached the deal you get from Orange for 12 months, same plan, same phone. You would get a new Iphone but you would pay 469 chf. Just saying

But the OP is selling the plan **without** the iPhone. That is an optional extra.

LOL not another one, you'd need to be clinically insane to take this 'deal'

Re: Offer to exchange Orange contract (including iPhone 4)

He is not selling ( I hope )
He wants a person to take over the plan from May 2012 and the plan is 50chf a month. If that person wants the Iphone the OP wants 300 chf (neg)
If you take a brand new plan (the same one) you end up paying for a new Iphone and a sim 469 chf plus 50 chf a month. Am I missing smth?

Re: Offer to exchange Orange contract (including iPhone 4)

thanks to all those who expressed interest. However, we would like someone who could take both the phone and the contract.

We are quite flexible with the price of the iPhone and will be willing to negotiate. So if someone agrees to take the contract they can get the phone for next to nothing.

As we are leaving Switzerland, we will have to pay a very large termination fee if we do not find someone to take the contract.

maybe do a search on here for orange termination fee leaving switzerland

or just make the deal a real deal, like take over the contract and get the iphone free? especially when you can get an iphone 4s from 1chf on a 24 month contract

Re: Offer to exchange Orange contract (including iPhone 4)

From Orange.ch:
If you cancel your contract before its expiry date, you will incur an early termination fee.
If you wish to cancel before the expiry date, a fee will be charged according to the length of the extension (CHF 300.— for 12 months and CHF 500.— for 24 months / iPhone customers: CHF 600.- for 12 months and CHF 800.- for 24 months).

I agree she needs to make it a good deal but for free??
An Iphone is 1 chf for 24 months with:

Orange - 120 chf a month
Sunrise - 125 chf a month
Swisscom - haven't even tried but knowing Swisscom...it is at least the same price or more.

So again...Iphone with 300 chf (and the op is saying that the price can be lower) for one year with 50 chf a month is a good deal. It is true that if the OP does not find anybody to take over, he needs to pay 600 chf for 12 months cancellation. He is better off offering the plan with the Iphone for free but to compare the offer of an Iphone 4s for 24 months is not a good idea.

OP...I hope you find the cheapest way out of this.

Re: Offer to exchange Orange contract (including iPhone 4)

Search these forums, but it seems most (if not all) companies have to respect the fact you're leaving the country and terminate any contracts without penalty.

When you de-register from your canton you use that proof to cancel all ongoing services (insurance, cable, internet etc.). Mobile contracts are slightly different as the phone is subsidised, but at the worst you can return the phone and walk away.

Re: Offer to exchange Orange contract (including iPhone 4)

About a month ago I was in the Orange shop and they said that as of end of August they no longer cancel contracts based on moving. He said it can be negotiated but it is not like it was. Maybe some would have some luck!

Re: Offer to exchange Orange contract (including iPhone 4)

When I wanted to cancel they wanted 300 francs payment so they basically wanted me to pay in advance my bills till the end of subscription but cancelled immediately.
