It seems that my 4 year-old has outsmarted me (again!) and talked me into getting a kitten. Does anyone have a cat in the "family way"? Or can anyone tell me how to find a city pound in the Zug (or Zurich/Luzern) area?

I'm also looking for some used cat stuff -- kitty litter box, toys, and ... whatever else I might need.

There is one in Allenwinden, a friend got a young cat there just before christmas. I'll try to see her today and get the details.

I am also looking for a kitten and looked at this website. Any idea (my German is horrible, can't find it myself) how much it costs to adopt? Also, where would be the best place to go for the litter box and other essentials? Thanks!

Qualipet has a good selection plus an online catalog for pet supplies. There's a small one at the Glattzentrum in Zürich.

Adoption fees vary, I paid 500,- CHF for each of my dogs, but cats will be a lot less expensive.

On the tierschutz.ch site you can click through to the cats search function, select desired age and canton, and then it lists all available cats in the area with a link to the shelter they are located at.

if you adopt/rescue i think you just pay around 50chf.
