For Sale: Home Made Christmas cake

If you are missing England, my wife has baked a second rich fruit Christmas cake and we wont be able to eat both. It has been 'well fed' with a dousing of brandy (Remy Martin) over the last 4 weeks and is ready to eat.

Guaranteed satisfaction! It weighs 1.9kg, so postage will be 8CHF (or collection at Bhf Luzern or Bhf Zug is possible). 50CHF is what she is asking for. See photos on http://gallery.mac.com/mankboy. Dont forget to download the aromavision plugin to smell the cake online :-)

Looks really good.....

Would love to but my girlfriend isn't a fan of the traditional english cake as I am, so it would be a bit much for 1......

Mmmmmmmm I was only just thinking I would like xmas cake to go with the wensleydale cheese I bought off grumpy - but unfortunately its only me that likes it in my household of 2 so its a little two big for just me - if you were selling it as a quarter then i'd have been seriously tempted....

Maybe we could split it. All interested parties, what do you say? If you don't eat it all, it'll keep, it's not going off any time soon.

Where's Weggis?

Re: For Sale: Home Made Christmas cake

It was baked in a 24cm diametre cake tin, so it is 'standard' cake size and would last at least a month after cutting due to the amount of alcohol :-) so I dont see any problems about it being too much :-) But then you should see the size of my belly...However we are certainly happy to split it. I think preference out there goes to anyone who wants the whole cake, but if nobody has come forward for the whole cake by tonight (Sunday 23 Dec) by 9pm then we will split it as per the requests on the forum. My wife is thrilled to have such a response overnight - many thanks. email me at iwantahomemadechristmascakeandiwantitnow@mankboy.c om

PS Weggis is on Lake Lucerne about 30 mins drive south of Lucerne. Where the Brazilian football team did pre-World Cup training last year. A holiday paradise and I live here :-)))
