Actually, if you contact Swisscom, they should give you a refund for the hardware. (Assuming you haven't tried)...

You didn't go out and buy a whole new wireless Router/Modem did you? I'm sure Swisscom would have swapped that for a wireless Router/Modem for free if you had asked them. Or at the very least you could have bought a wireless access point to connect to your non-wireless Router/Modem. Another point is you can get DSL modems from Swisscom that are both ADSL and VDSL plus Bluewin TV compatible as well so if in the future you ever wanted to get TV reception over your DSL line you would already be set up for it.

Swisscom gave me a refund on mine when i wanted a wireless and let me keep the 4 port router, if anyone wants it for free just let me know...
