I need to move a sofa from one side of Basel to the other, anytime this Saturday (Jan 20th)... so I need a smallish van for an hour, maybe 90 minutes.

I think I can hire a van directly through work for 24hrs for 110chfs - so it would have to be a better offer than that.

join mobility.ch, you will pay more than that for the initial 1 year contract (190chf with a half tax i think) but it will cost you almost nothing to rent for an hour. You should search the forum, there are loads of threads relating to this

well, thanks for the advice but it would make no sense for me to join motibility (I already have a car and don't have a half tax card).... however if anyone with a motibility contract would like to help out, for a small consideration.....

You won't get anyone to come out for less than 100CHF... I think your work deal is a good one.

I would love to help, but unfortunately I am a very new driver and still trying to master the art of not stalling a car when sitting at lights with a queue of traffic behind me. I wouldnt have the confidence to drive a van in a city i'm afraid.

Ok, i have an offer for you, i will rent the van for about 4 or 5pm on saturday, you can drive it (which actually isnt allowed on the mobility contract) in return for a good few pints in Paddys afterwards
