I am selling my playstation 3 (60GB) due to financial constraints.(losing my job)

This PS3 was purchased new in December 2007 and has been barely used.

The sales package contains the following items:
Playstation 3 (PS3) 60GB
3 games (plus downloaded demos!)
2 controllers
HDMI cable
Composite/Scart cable
USB charging cable for controllers

The 60GB playstation (discontinued in Switzerland) has wireless capabilities - connecting both for console and game updates as well as game-play, without the site of a cable, to your wireless internet connection.

The Playstation can read dvds, blue-ray dvds, divx movies, audio cds and data cds.

The HDMI cable provided (and purchased seperately from the console) is to allow the PS3 to bring the full depth of color and definition to your television. Beware ! - Old CRT televisions (the thicker tvs) do not have HDMI inputs ! I will however be providing the orignal SCART plug cables that can be used with any tv from the mid 1970s to todays models. The playstation will bring 1080i images from the games (some only have 720p) to your HDTV. for more information on resolutions, visit wikipedia.org

The two controllers both connect to the playstation either via a usb cable or by bluetooth (a wireless derivitive) at a range of 10m. The battery life of the controllers is very good and they can be charged by the USB cable I will be providing.

All updates to the firmware and games are current as of February 2008. (I havent used it since then) I do not have the original box (I dont think) but will promise to pack and secure if needing to send instead of pick-up.

The most interest is in an auction which started at 1 franc. This might be your best bet?

ElJeFe, though the photo may have proved useful for this sale, Im not sure that using the PS3 to hide my bits and bobs is the way forth. But who knows, you might get lucky !

even 600 chf (half your price) would be a bit too steep IMHO.

Your games are a little out of date and the machine, whilst nice, I got for 899 CHF last year with almost everything you are mentioning included.

A brand new 40gb PS3 now is USD 400, GBP 284, EUR 370. (amazon.com/co.uk/de - sources).

CHF 1205! No way.

My suggestion is you get a new job and in the meantime enjoy your unemployment money and play some games!

I agree that the price is too high .... So the OP needs to re-think this . ...

However , the 60GB version has an advantage over the 40GB version , in that it is able to play PS2 games as well ( The 40GB version cannot do this ) . This definitely adds a small premium .

Not tried it myself but I believe this depends on which version of PS3 40gb machine you have, early/recent model +/- euro edition vs US vs asia..

I think you maybe right that it depends on the version ..... As for the PS2 games , it is a key point if you already have a large stash of PS2 games or if you have a 5 year old who loves the jump-and-run games , which you get more variety of and cheaply with PS2 . I agree with you that the PS3 games have better graphics and are more challenging ( Love the football ! ) ...

I hear you, I do have a PS2 which the boy plays and I play the PS3.

It does require two telly's but they're cheaper than chips these days..

I didnt realise that the ps3 60Gb played ps2 games! I just bought a Ps3 40Gb and had i known I would have bought the 60Gb and got rid of my ps2!!
