My employer gave me 400CHF worth of Reka money and I would like to exchange it for real money. I have a monthly GA and cannot pay it with the Reka money, only the yearly GA can be paid with these vouchers (Yet another inflexibility of the Swiss system). I was wondering if someone is interested in buying from me these vouchers. Since Coop will give you a 3% discount for Reka check purchases, I don't think you are going to get the full value of the vouchers.

They usually aren't traded at face value, as can be researched on the website.

But I haven't found any indication that you can't pay a monthly GA with them. You have to do so at the counter though.

I called the GA support line and they told me it cannot be done. I would have to cancel my current GA and go to the train station a request a new one, THEN I can pay with Reka money. great!

Ok, I would sell them at 10% discount. no less than that. But I want to sell ALL of them (400CHF) at the same time.

What is so difficult then? You have a monthly GA anyway. Hold on to the
REKA checks for a few weeks, then when you buy your new monthly GA,
use the REKA checks. Easy

SBB accepts REKA checks for 100% of the purchase price. Trade for cash is
not possible like Nathu said. If that is a bonus from your employer, then
super! Use them to buy your groceries at Coop or go to a mountain top
using the public transportation, paid for with your REKA checks!

As for selling or buying them here, I can buy them for about the same
price, if not a little better rate. I'll wait till you drop the price to about 25%
off

Canceling my GA and applying for a new one is just a pain in the butt. I have to wait a month and do all the paperwork again. WHY can't they just accept the Reka money for my current GA. It seems illogical to me.

Do you mean that they won't accept Reka's for your current abonnement you already paid? I wouldn't either.... but see here for some uses of Reka checks:

AFAIK you can buy REKA checks at Coop (at a 3% discount), but you can't pay for your Coop shopping with REKA checks.

No, I haven't paid for it completely, I have a Monthly GA, therefore I should be able to pay the remaining balance with Reka 'monopoly' money.

You can also use Reka Checks at participating restaurants.

Or be a love and donate it to a family with kids that could use it for vacation at one of the Reka villages

I also got CHF400 worth of Reka checks and I spent them effectively on guests transport who come visit from abroad! Psychologically it has an effect (at least on me) that you dont use your cash thus save some money

You could also use Reka Checks at some Petrol Pumps as well.

You can use it at the SBB machine to load your phone if you're using prepaid phone.

Nah, I think I'm gonna go through the hassle of canceling my GA and getting a new one, since my current GA is under my friend's name because I didn't have a B permit at the time. I think I will get the GA Partner duo with my GF. Then I will be able to pay with the REKA checks. But thanks for the offer though.

My husband gets REKA cheques from his work and sells them on EBay

I got some from work and used them at the ticket machine -SBB- to buy
Mehrfahrkarten. (multiple - journey tickets)
They are valid for a couple of years.....
