I would seriously go to Ikea and grab one, they are not so expensive for Switzerland.
And they will last you a long long time.

Thanks! | | | | |
Hrm, it was almost a year ago now, not so easy to remember... I *want* to say it was around 150 - 200 chf though.
I'm lookin at the Ikea website to see if I can find it to give a more clear answer.
Edit:
Ok, got it... this is the kit: http://www.ikea.com/ch/de/catalog/products/40123264 Apparently it is 139chf! Not bad at all.
The peeler and the can opener are both junk but the knives aren't bad and the grater is fantastic (if a bit small).
Er... and the grater itself is only 2.50chf... the Utensils page(s) show a variety of options for many utensils, including a few different graters at various prices.

But on a serious note.. cant you grate carrots with some Food Factory utility? I like carrot cake.. but everytime I ask for it my wife makes me do all the grating... |

I would suggest trying the brockenhaus, I almost always see a lonely grinder hanging out there.
And did you say you are looking for something "throw away"? You'll find anything from Ikea gets put into this category after a year or two of usage.

Hrm... how does she manage to get you to do that?
My hubby loves carrot cake but grumbles if I even give him the simple task of chopping pecans while I grate away at that pound of carrots. |

But truth is I like cooking, infact I enjoy it (not so good with it though)... when we got married she had to fight me to take control of our Kitchen.
