Re: Wanted a fine grater(kitchen equipment)
Well, to really be fair to my hubby though, he's in a kitchen all day so the last thing he wants to do at home is any kitchen duties.
Sanju, if you come back, I really would like the recipe for whatever it is you are wanting to make with those grated carrots.

I do not know, is this will be a proper place to share the recipe,But if you are really interested then have a look on this...(I apologize, if I have posted it at wrong place)
Gajar Ka Halwa Recipe / Carrot recipe
Ingredients 1 kg Carrots 1 litre Milk 1 teaspoon Cardamom seeds 3/4 cup Water 3 tablespoons Ghee 2 tablespoons Raisins 2 tablespoons Almonds 2 tablespoons Pistachios 450 grams Sugar Method Wash and grate the carrots. Soak the raisins in water for 30 minutes. Blanch and shred the nuts. Put the water to boil, when it starts boiling add the grated carrots. Cook for 5-7 minutes. Add the milk. Cook on a low flame for 1 hour stirring occasionally. Add sugar, mix well and cook till the sugar has dissolved and all the milk has been absorbed. Add ghee and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Add the slightly crushed cardamoms and the raisins. Mix well. Remove from heat and arrange in a serving dish. Garnish with almonds and pistachios. Serve cold, hot or at room temperature. Hope you will like it.

Re: Wanted a fine grater(kitchen equipment)
Great recipe - I will do it as soon as I'm in the mood for some carrots. Maybe it also works with pumpkin.
I suggest the good thing about this grater, wife and money discussion, is this recipe.
Personally I can't really understand the fuss for CHF 7-9.-. All the ingredients will probably cost about 7-9.
Not to speak about energy for cooking.
Tell us your secrets on how to survive in expensive Switzerland.

Re: Wanted a fine grater(kitchen equipment)
The grater's from Migros are the best. I used to get requests for these from my U.S. friends/clients as well as there 1.90 peelers(Swiss invention) and the short and long pairing knives.
