Yes I know 150CHF each - ...
Phew. I thought you'd paid 300CHF for each ticket! I've paid 150CHF for mine as well... if they arrive! ( Next time I'll use the "fan" route ).

Fortunately, I'm not that bothered if it goes pear shaped and I miss the concert.

If it does all go horribly wrong, well, the UK has some nifty methods that can be used against companies that are annoying...

tbh, there's three complaints I've found. One was from someone who decided that if the company isn't an official supplier, they must be fake tickets. Another was an incomplete thread about tickets not arriving on time. And a third was about the fact that they only refund the face value of the tickets in the event of a cancellation. Which are really the kind of things you could say about buying off ebay! Ricardo seems to be selling at around the 200CHF mark for standing tickets.

I've seen U2 on 4 occasions now, I think. And I frankly couldn't be arsed to see them a 5th.

August 1987, Elland Road, Leeds.... just where were you then?
Right with you Boxman,

Joshua Tree tour, Oct 1, 1987, Olympic Stadium, Montreal, Quebec. Closer to the roof than I was to the stage. Ticket was a lot less than 375 CH...

For me, this was the peak of U2. Bono with the massive searchlight, the music was just fantastic and they were just at the entrance to the anal passage (they've since disappeared right up there).

100............200............and I can see those fighter planes............

1st song of the encore. I remember a great version of Help, still playing songs from Boy, Bono's arm was in a sling from a fall and he was not playing guitar yet , the memories. Zoo TV was a great show, Popmart way too over the top, elevation tour was okay. Can't say I have a need to see them again but would not kick free tickets out of bed for eating crackers.

Ah I did Popmart at Wembley, supported by Big Audio Dynamite as I remember.

Actually, 1987 had The Pretenders, The Mission and The Fall as support. Only The Fall were not good.....

Bono and his political meanderings (and his daft glasses) get on my moobs.

Couldn't have said it better.

Never been a fan of U2, can appreciate some of their older stuf, I just find them an over hyped band these days and I can spot typical U2 disciples a mile off - I suppose I am married to one

I am going for the spectacle more than anything. I haven't listened to U2 since Achtung Baby.

Yes I would agree, this huge spectacle show they are putting on, going around the world twice because they have lost money and polluting the planet while Bono asks everyone to think about global warming has to be something worth watching right?

Would rather have Bono influencing the masses than Fox News or Tony Blair.

Only the British would worry about someone's "daft glasses". Propbably beat him up for it too if given the chance.

U2 are an amazing live show. And that's why one goes to live shows.

As for your argument re global warming, are you saying we should stop all musicians touring to prevent global warming? Something to be discussed over beer.

IMO they peaked with The Unforgettable Fire, maintained that momentum with The Joshua Tree and then totally lost the plot with Rattle and Hum. Never took them seriously again.

Nope not much of a greeny but I think what gets my goat is the way Bono harps on about what we all should be doing yet he should ask himself how much 'their' show is polluting the planet and the millions it costs to put on (which then loses money) could go to the starving

Sorry I am unlikely to succeed in an argument or discussion on this but everything Bono just irritates me - I might think differently after September the 11th

Like I said, U2 are not the U2 I grew up with, but am happy to throw out my morals and ethics to catch a supershow spectacle once.

To be fair Bono has never 'harped' about global warming - he tends to stay focussed on fighting disease and alleviating poverty in Africa rather than environmental issues. And the band do put their money where the mouth - one example being that for every RED zone ticket being sold for CHF 380, CHF 295 goes to buy drugs to fight AIDs and malaria in Africa.

To ease anyone's moral dilemma there is a carbon offset strategy in place for the tour - see http://www.u2.com/static/index/index...zero_emissions

And finally, I hope you will enjoy the show very much, we saw it last year and it was not overly heavy on politics but was an excellent show, great sound system and a good party atmosphere. My wife, who would never listen to a U2 CD before, is now a big fan of their live performances.

thanks for the above, i never would have got into a major debate as I knew i didn't have enough knowledge. I suppose I have just always found Bono a bit of a knob But I am sure he/they do do a lot of good and I am just spouting crap as usual

I disagree about Rattle + Hum - this, for me, was the output from the Joshua Tree tour and has some excellent material - most of which is live Joshua Tree tracks.

But if you asked me what I would like to listen to, I'd choose October. From I Threw a Brick Through a Window to October, Fire, Gloria.......this album is my favourite. This seems to be the opposite of what many "fans" think.

For what it's worth, I think they've re-invented themselves quite well over the years and yes, they do know how to put on a live act.

I also do rather like NLOTH. Cedars of Lebanon is a beautiful song.

I think I might actually use some of my 4 tickets

I also liked Rattle and Hum and found it an interesting concept. They are still one of the greatest bands of our time, whether you like their music or not, and whether you like their re-inventions or not.

It's the live show we're going for.

If someone is desperate for seeing them, you might wanna consider going to Frankfurt.
Tickets are still on sale for 93,- EUR (check out eventim.de)
