Well I am sorry to say no Forum members joined us for this, but I thought i'd post the results anyway

.
Players and spectators assembled in the garden of the Oliver Twist between 7 and 7.30, for a pre-tournament practice drink. The numbers were about half of last years, with 12 players.
At around 7.45 I led out the first team, with our Czech newbie Val, commiting a serious foul on his opener. He played out of turn,
incurring a two-shot penalty (he had to drink two shots!).
Things went quite smoothly after that, and all players made it to the Bonny Prince in one piece. In my team, the two main competitors of the tournament, Val and Pat were both playing to win, eventually tieing 14 at the finish.
The winner was settled through a pint-of-guiness drink-off, with Pat the victor (he took about 10 seconds). The men's trophy now takes pride-of-place in the Pat household, i'm sure.
My own score was a more than respectable 18
The winner of the ladies tournament was settled quickly, as only one lady decided to compete (the other ladies were only spectating). Antionette completed the course with a score of 28.
After a few hours in the Bonnie Prince, the group moved to an exclusive pre-opening party at Cubanita. Apparently this is a new salsa night club which opens next week. Thanks to the excellent connections of the group, we managed to get into the VIP section, despite our sense of dress and inebriated condition!
Hopefully we'll get a better showing at next year's competition
