| | | Re: Basel Pub Crawl! Braincake, there will be a mix of ages at the crawl. Somewhere between early twenties to early forties is the average. But really anyone coming on a pub crawl will be there to have fun so age doesn't really matter! Of course there will also be others in the pubs besides the EFers so if you decide you want to make new friends you can go for it... but after meeting us i have no doubt you'll want to!
Looking forward to meeting some newbies!

Kay
I am a little bit afraid that an age barrier will be just as difficult as a language barrier... I'm 24 and I work with mostly 40/50+ people and I don't have much to share with them because of the age difference |

WHERE ARE MY ZURCHERS?????
Come on, it will be fun. As said, I am a 95% yes, but still need to verify a couple of things.
Braincake, it's interesting what you are saying - I have friends ranging from all ages, and what I have found is that I usually have nothing in common/to share with people my age - they have nothing to tell me and I nothing to tell them (I am 30, by the way).
Having said that, there is always hope, hehehe
Looking forward to meet the EFers from Basel
P.S. If anyone else is coming from Zurich, let me know and we can coordinate trains, etc. YAY!

I may brave it, will have to have a peek at hubby's work schedule to see if even "Cindy Lib" (home by midnight) is possible. |

I am older than braincake but still under 30 myself! I'll make sure there is nothing but fun to be had on the 24th, promise!
It would be nice if the pub crawl started now rather than being at work!

Simon, i have a couch and an airbed if you wanna crash, i wont reccomend driving after having been to 10 pubs! I have a nice big living room in my new apartment so there is plenty of room.
So bring the Zurich crowd with you!

Lingh, its a bit far (a few hours) but its a Saturday so why not join? As mentioned above i have some space in my livingroom. Will have to check with the flatmate if he minds people staying. Anyone else want to host a guest in Basel? Otherwise you could try couchsurfing. Are you a member already? There are also hotels and hostels in Basel that you could check.

Hello all. What a good idea. I need a good night out...meeting new people etc.
When might this pub crawl draw to a close do we think? Are we thinking early hours of sunday morning, or later early hours of sunday morning?! :P

Welllll it depends when we start really. I suggest we start around 7pm and then stay out all night. If we start at 3 or 4 most people won't make it past midnight and what fun is that?!? What do the drinkers think???
I have already started a list of good places and popped into a few of then Friday night while out to see if they can handle a crowd. This night is going to be epic!

Sounds like a bash.
There is a 30% chance I could also have a person or two crash over on an air bed if they don't mind very open plan living (one 45sq meter room, bathroom is private though. )
From an age perspective I am 39 going on 22. |

Well I would definitly put Cargo Bar forward as an offering as I have developed a little attachment to the place with it being swimming distance from home and stubling distance back.
Saying that though I don't know the bar scene here at all very well so am dead keen to be lead around to anywhere and everywhere. Hopefully there will be one good cocktail place on the list as I am definitly a rum and vodka person.
