Looking for a hike for Sunday not very far from Zurich.
Something like Pilatus.

Something like this, but OK to do it from Alpnachstad too, which I have done before.

Lets try do this: I'll try do the routing from Kriens. If we are not happy with it we can fall back to Alpnachstad route.

Most important is to decide to do it.
I don't feel like staying in the city all weekend.

I will try to rope in Assassin and some other Nuts too, or maybe you can post something on the Zurich Outdoor Nuts.

Great speed clamber today Niranjan; you could tell it was steep as when I took my rucksack off it rolled down the slope!

You guys all have fun on the northern Pilatus trail tomorrow. Be safe, the rocks won't be as forgiving as the Rahberg today.

First part is more detailed as need to find way through the city and the forest.

Route:

Luzern
-> Kriens
-> Himmelrich
-> Fräkmüntegg
-> Oberlauelen
-> Chlimsenhorn
-> Pilatus


Detailed:

Luzern (8:25) -> S4 (4 min) -> Krienz Mattenhof (before 9AM)

Krienz Mattenhof -> Brandistr -> Kreuzstr -> Motelstr -> leave Dam on right getting out of Krienz
-> Bodenmatt str -> Kreuel str -> Panorama Hotel Himmerlich
-> Schattenbergstr -> passing restr. Burestubli on right -> left on Bruderhussen str -> right on Krienseregg str
-> pass Krienseregg on left -> Follen str -> can make shortcuts towards Follenwald str
-> Fräkmüntegg

=> this part is ~12K so <3h -> we should reach Fräkmüntegg before noon

-> then just follow main points


Will pack light as weather good and long trip with steep climb.
