@MariV: simply ask at the bar for the EF people - the staff all speak English. The Talacker is a simple venue with a decent terrace to hang out on a warmish September evening and always has a lively crowd.
We haven't had a Midweek drinks night for a while; I hear from many they can't make the 'Viadukt on Thursday' nights for various reasons and I'm feeling sentimental for the nights when 90+ people would roll into the Talacker "just for a quick drink" and end up dancing on the sofas or getting married and having kids.
If you're a first timer, simply walk up and say hello. We'll have you settled in no time. Couples, newbies, misfits, hipsters, the shy, and old faces all welcome. Leave your work / home stresses at the door, get yourself a revitalising beverage and meet some new people.

Although he is a Zurich nightlife legend, his profile is mercifully low now. The 'Diving into a glass of water' routine is well worth seeing though.

I bought a tray of Jagermeisters one night, people had some sore heads in the morning. Either that or the dodgy beer! Happy memories.
Even Shorrick appeared from Geneva, that's how legendary these events were.

I don't want to appear cliquey, but having just googled " Talacker Bar" > Images it's hilarious to see just how influential EF search engine optimising has been.
