City/Town: Zurich
Event Type: Drinks/Bar
Meeting Point: Corazón

Paul, founder of The Local (which runs EF) will be in Switzerland next week.

There'll be a drinks meetup from 6.30pm at the Corazón bar in Zurich on Wednesday 19th October.

An informal gathering. No speeches or slideshows or anything. Just a chance to discuss future directions of EF and get to know who is behind The Local. Would be great if a number of the long-time EF members could join. All welcome.

If there's sufficient interest, we might do one in Basel the following evening too.

Please RSVP if you'd like to come along, so we know how much space to reserve at the bar.

Zähringerplatz 11, Zurich

Re: Drinks evening (with founder of The Local)

Great PR and a great idea.....thanks for facing the music and dancing.

I won't attend though (because its only an online place to talk nonsense now and again and isn't high on my priority list vs other things to do on a Wednesday night )

Re: Drinks evening (with founder of The Local)

joking aside, is it a good opportunity to express concerns about the T&C, Moderation , etc.

Or is it all going to be shrugged off with "chill it's just drinks" ??

Go ahead, express your doubts and concerns about the T&Cs, moderation etc. In the right part of EF, where everyone can see and respond to your comments.

Indeed.

It's just a shame our friends from Geneva, Neuchatel, Lausanne, Lugano, Sion, Chur and Fribourg can't attend, isn't it?

and while it's early days yet it looks like they only need reserve a couple of bar stools so far.

Re: Drinks evening (with founder of The Local)

@jrspet - I'd be happy to meet for a coffee/beer at a time that would suit you.

@mirfield - yes, maybe a *touch* overdue but hopefully one or two people will find it worthwhile.

@ouchboy - what time would you be able to make it? I would hope it's a good opportunity to talk about any concerns - no shrugging on my part.

@grynch - can't guarantee there will be minutes and I don't think I'll be able to get to GE this time - but can definitely fix another trip soon

@Dougal's Breakfast - agree, but it seemed sensible to do it in Zurich and Basel. If people do want to meet for a chat I'll try and get to as many places as possible - as mentioned above, if I can't do it on this trip then on another one soon. Where are you based?

Re: Drinks evening (with founder of The Local)

You should do it via a video conference. All you need is a webcam (sometimes, the world's best webcam is offered for sale on this very forum), a large conference table and a white cat to stroke as you speak.

paul, thanks for taking the time(both here and for the drinks). Since i didn't know your schedule, I didn't want to commit. I'm always late to these events.
i just wanted to make clear what people are looking into (just so you know I don't have an issue with the T&C text).

If people are still there 9 or so (doubtful) I'll drop by. Otherwise, don't move your schedule just for me.

P.S: I don't own brass knuckles, so don't worry.
