| I was out running at 0930 on Sunday in Amden - the weather was spectacularly good - so I bet you had a good one. How busy was Speer? It can be a bit of a motorway! | |

Not too bad actually - just a bit busy on the top of course, with people enjoying the superb views - so we didn`t hang around there too long.
Instead of making the round trip back down into Amden, we pushed on over the North side of Speer . . . a long, long treck down finishing in the village of Rieden, where we picked up a bus . . .just

.
Just as a question, we saw there is a route up the south side of Mattstock but each time I have been up to Speer, I wondered if there is a route up the Mattstock south side. Every time before yesterday it was quite snowy but yesterday we saw the clear markings for a path going up. It was not marked on the map and looking back with binoculars it was difficult to pick the route out.
Has anyone done this route at all? and if so can you shed some light on it.
I am tempted to go back next weekend and check it out as the ridge along the top of Mattstock looks pretty good . . . from the south side anyway
