Hi everyone,

I am new to Zurich and am an ardent lover of charity shops, Goodwill, thrifting, second hand stores, etc. Do they exist in Zurich? Are there any other enthusiasts out there who would be interested in introducing me to what Zurich has to offer?

p.s. I am totally new here so am not sure if this is the best place for this thread- feel free to advise or bump if it's not!

Thanks Jrspet, I had already checked those links out- I'm really looking for someone experienced who would like a thrifting/goodwill/charity shopping buddy! I will go on my own as well of course- but it's a lot more fun with someone else!

If you're in Zurich try these places:


The Helvitiaplatz flea market:
Located between Stauffacher and Langstrasse along the 8 tram line (stop Helvitiaplatz)
or
Bus 32 (same stop)
EVERY saturday (until mid winter I guess) from early until 3pm

Same day

Bürkliplatz flea market:
Walk back to Stauffacher, and take tram 2 or 9 to "Bürkliplatz" stop at the top of the Zurich lake..... you won't miss it.

Basically, it's on the wrong side of the rail tracks at Zurich HB.
It's a 3 story thrift shop...... some cool stuff there, but nothing for the price you'd be expecting.

ouch- thanks for the link. In my defense, there is a lot to read, I've only been on here for three days, and I have made two 'acutal' posts- an introduction and this one. Frankly, your response here comes across as antagonistic rather than welcoming and I will now be a lot less likely to post in the future. I was making an effort to thank you, not looking for an insult.

Ok, now I am embarrassed, you were not attempting to insult me at all. I apologize. This is a hard week of jetlag adjustment so far.

There is another one in Neu Oerlikon, at the Banhof take bus 80, get off at Charleweg stop and look for the sign Brokito (I think I spelt it correctly). They are one of the biggest ones in Zurich, got new boxed item as well as second hand. Really bad news for me is they have got CD and records there
