Re: Ski Day II

Nice idea, the choice is too wide:

Braunwald, Elm, Flumserberg, Malbun, Mythenregion, Pizol, Sattel, Stoos, Obertoggenburg.

Of the above, I'd rate only Flumserberg (accessible by public transport via Unterterzen) as the only realistic destination...

Re: Ski Day II

Going by car, so all options are open.

There is also the direct train "Glarner Sprinter" to Linth, and then the Braunwaldbanhn up, so outside of the weekends, Braunwald is even easier to reach than Flumserberg by public transport

Re: Ski Day II

Is skiing ability an issue?

I'm a long-time snowboarder who has just learnt to ski and who wants to practice the latter. So would love to join but wouldn't want to hold-up any groups if the intention is to ski together all day - at a great pace.

Off Piste accessed from the new Desert Blanc lift. It replaces the old Col de Platte & Perdrix lifts.

Oooh, yes, lots of nice stuff up there. A couple of nice gullies, small ones through the upper rock line, then usually some nice powder across to the Diamant Noir run. Bigger gullies on the other side of the DMC can be interesting too; knowing how to find them (without going off the cliff) is the challenge...

Dont worry about holding anybody up. So far, it will just be you and me, but the weather forecast does not look too great, so I would worry about even going instead. The best weather forecast is currently Braunwald and Elm, with only "light snowfall" all day, so if you are still up for it, we should exchance Phone numbers, and decide tomorrow morning, if we go or stay home.

I was in Mythenregion yesterday, and it was great until it started raining, and in Stoos today, and the weather was brilliant.
