I tried to organise meetups using the facebook group 'lausanne startup beers' but most often it was just myself and my wife at the pub.

Happy to help out with some alternative approach to get togethers eg a msssage board.

Re: is the lausanne meet-up dead?

It isn't an EF event but I am one of the co-organizers of Bloggy Friday Lausanne, which happens the first Friday evening of every month at the Chez Rony restaurant. We always welcome new faces and we all speak English (although depending on the composition of the table some things do switch to French). it started out as the meetup for Lausanne bloggers many, many moon ago, and has now become a meetup for people vaguely interested in the online world. February's event is here if you or anyone is interested.

Looks like it

I haven't been around for a while either and I used to help organise the TNDC, so I'll ask the last couple of organisers what's going on... with a view to meeting you all lovely people in March when I am back in Lausanne

Re: is the lausanne meet-up dead?

Just arrange an event - not too far in the future to keep it in people's minds - and post it on the social events calendar. Having something too soon or too far away dissuades people from agreeing to come. I find in Zurich a week's notice is more than enough.

Give as much info as possible and keep it simple. Good luck in meeting fellow, delightful EFers
