I have a stress management workshop in Altstetten until about 7.30 p.m. so only a few minutes walk to the Spirgarten. Hopefully it will be postponed (this happens very often) as I would like to join in.

where exactly is the viadukt, is it near where the gig is on?? thanks

Ok people its me again. I need help.

I need clear (like you would explain to a 4-year old - seriously!) how to get from Zurich HB to the hotel (Neues Theater Spirgarten - Lindenplatz 5) to the Viaduct (Limnatstrasse - i think!).

For the ride Viaduct - theater, i hope to follow some kind fellow members that might be going the same way

At Hauptbahnhof, look for the tram stop called HB Bahnhofquai or otherwise HB Sihlquai and catch one of the following trams; the 4 (for Bhf. Altstetten Nord), 13 (for Frankental) or 17 (for Werdhözli) and get off at Dammweg (I think it's the 5th stop). Then walk back the way the tram came just a short way and you will see a massive ancient stone train viaduct in front of you. The Viaduct market is actually between the arches of that viaduct. You can't miss it.

That helps. But i would like to know the way from the HB to the hotel first to drop off our stuff and then at the Viaduct

OK, sorry, I misread your message.

At Hauptbahnhof, look for the tramstop called Bahnhofplatz. If you walk to the main concourse and then turn right you are headed in the right direction. There you wait on the tram platform that is closest to the station and take tram number 3 or 14 to Stauffacher (about 3 stops). There you get off and catch the number 2 (in the same direction) and ride to Lindenplatz. You get off at Lindenplatz and there is a big square. On the right hand side of that square is the hotel.

Once you've left your stuff in the hotel go to the hotel reception and ask if they can tell you how to get to Bahnhof Altstetten. It's only about 2 blocks to walk. At Bahnhof Altsetten you walk through the underpass tunnel that goes under the train tracks and come out the other side. There is a lot of building work going on there right now but there is a also a tram stop. The terminus of the number 4. You catch that and ride to Dammweg. Get off at Dammweg and from there you can see the viaduct. Then same directions as above.
