Basel Connect meeting Sat 21 Jan 2012

Last night I attended the first Basel Connect (www.baselconnect.ch) event hosted by the academia language school in Schifflaende.

This is a brilliant initiative enabling expats and locals to meet and to help each other out by speaking German/Swiss German, getting to know the town, enjoying cultural events together, matching families, or just meeting for a cup of tea.

The result for me is that I am now matched with someone from Basel, who also speaks English and who agrees to meet up regularly to help me with my German and even Swiss German!

A second meeting is taking place on Saturday 21 January in the afternoon (please check on the website), so I thought some of you may be interested.

Hi Flamelily,

I was also interested to join the basel connect event with my wife (she is Canadian and have sometimes hard time finding neyw friends). How do you join? Can you simply show up? When will be the next one?
