A friend of mine had a "hobby" of writing screenplays and making films, and eventually he had a screenplay picked up by the Sci Fi Channel.

So you never know where this might take you!

P.S. I think there is also a short-film competition in Zurich every year. I went to one in 2009; it was a lot of fun!

Hey Nigelr, could you please gives us an update of the current situation? Because this starts to look like a monkey business. A lot of people interested but no action. Half a year, one meeting. On this tempo I can invite my grandchildren (im 23) to the premiere.
I think we should just arrange fixed weekly meetings somewhere convienient for majority and manage all the initial work during these meetings through the summer and then just post a meeting report for those who were not able to attend in somewhere more convenient e.g. google groups. If we manage to get the full crew, script, technical stuff by the end of summer - great, lets start shooting that little frtrucker.

I think we have enough people interested, probably enough skills and motivation so lets just make something out of it.

The next step (and likely the main topic for the next meeting) will be setting up the production - so lots of technical stuff to source/cover/agree upon. Lots of interesting things to do this summer

We have people spread all over Switzerland so organising a meeting always ends up with three people (and not even the dog). As train_doctor posted, I received the script yesterday so now I will plan the meeting. I suggest a meeting in zurich and a second meeting in basel or bern and people can attend which ever one that suits them best. I will be at all of them to coordinate the tasks, people are also welcome to join all of them.

I will also pm people on here so that they are aware of the meetings.

We can get this film made I am sure of that as I also have a couple of people outside of EF ready to help out if we're short. There is a lot of hard work to come in the next few months.

There will also be a meeting on Tuesday July 10th in Lausanne for people in that part of the country. if somebody who knows Lausanne can suggest a suitable meeting point I would be grateful.

I must stress that the location has not been chosen and it is not that the film will be shot in Zurich - this important point is up for discussion. The location(s) still need to be found and permission sought etc.

People who want to work on set or in post-production should also come along (because knowing in advance what they would need to do the job, means that we can make sure we can provide it)

There's no reason why some jobs can't be filled by two people (e.g. location finder) or, vice versa, one person fill two roles (e.g. set design and set dresser).

We undoubtably have some "Legal Eagles" on the EF, we would need advice on whether or not it would be necessary to form a verein for this project (which may be necessary if monies are involved - whether being spent [100% probability] or earnt [hopefully])

Well, I'm in for the Zurich meeting and also the Basel meeting (Hols permitting). Don't worry too much about drop outs at this stage of the game, there's a lot of prep work to do before resources become critical....

I personally am not free until the end of July. But I am still interested. I can definitely help with procuring, and what I said before. But because I did not add to the script, and what I said I could do before I don't think there is much interest in my help.

Where is the meeting in Zurich?

I am interested in taking part in a film. Am not sure which role I could play, or where I would fit in but I have music skills, previous modeling experience, and also love to write. Also, have a fun attitude to make this a fun experience as well. Who knows, this may be the perfect time to find out what I may be really good at.
