Hiya Chris,

I am coming to Geneva in mid August, and would like to buy a bike. Any tips on finding used motorcycles? Also, I will be travelling a bit before I come (Holland, France, Germany); would it be cheaper to buy outside of Switzerland and register it in-country?

I can't give you much in the way of help knowing which is better, buy outside or here, as both mine were bought here, but I'm just lazy :-)
It seems that it may be cheaper buying outside, and paying the import tax, but you have to know what you're doing, in regards to if the bike matches the import specs for a swiss bike. They are quite strict on aftermarket add-ons.
Am sure some of the other guys will chime in with more info.

Afraid the weather is not going to be good enough for a ride tomorrow, so we will cancel, and move onto the next weekend.

Thanks for that, very usefull. I think I will wait on arrival to check the logistics of bringing one in from France or another part of EU. May be more headaches than is worth it.
