Anybody fancy an afternoon of ice-skating?

After recent discussions with one or two members on the forum I managed to reveal my secret shame of actually quite enjoying ice skating so we decided to do something this Sunday afternoon so come along! I myself have only been a couple of times last year so don't feel embarrassed if you've never been before, it doesn't take long to pick up, and when better to learn than with some other newcomers to the sport?

The park is not too far away from the train station (but maybe just out of walking distance) the 36 bus drops you right outside the rink (Kunteisbahn is the stop) and the 2 and 15 tram stops not far away.

All details are on their website and click here for a map. You can rent skates cheaply at the rink.

I should be there from 2 onwards so feel free to turn up whenever as the rink is open until 19:00.

Re: Ice skating

Like your thinking Ric, have you returned your skeleton costume yet or do we get to see you in it again as that would be quite a sight whizzing around the rink

Re: Ice skating

I know, it will be strange to converse on an EF social with you lot without alcohol being involved.

I actually bought that skeleton costume so I could wear it if you wanted.. or at least the gloves for when I fall over.

Well it would certainly 'add' to the entertainment factor but will be sticking to soft drinks myself as I will be detoxing and I'm already a bit unsteady on skates as it is.
Should we have a sweepstake who's gonna fall on their ass first

No need for the sweepstake......it will definately be me! I assume there are no big walls around the rink to assist my stopping technique

Am I allowed to flick ice at people looking hungover?

There's a barrier around the rinks so you will have something to cling into on your first few circuits.

Large group of English (mainly) people falling over on the ice. We won't be easy to miss.

Re: Ice skating

sorry but I have decided to stay in today. I have a bit of a head cold and the weather outside is forcing me to want to stay in. If the sky gets some blue then I would maybe reconsider. Hope you all have fun and please organize another one of these events as I am sorry to miss this one. Cheers!
