Dear Softball/Baseball enthusiasts
In case you are looking for something different (well, it's
certainly unusual in Switzerland), the Zürich Challengers fast-pitch
women's softball team is playing their nemesis team (Basel Flyers)
on Sunday, 24th September for a chance to finish the season at the
top of the league. Game 1 starts at 11.00am, game 2 at 1.30pm. In
effect, we'll be there all day!
The following two weekends will be semi- and grand-final best-of-
three series (first game away on Saturday, last 2 games at home on
Sunday).
Games are held at a gorgeous green reserve (Klopstockwiese) near
Bahnhof Enge. Just take bus 33 or tram 13 to Waffenplatzstr. We
are 20m from the stop!
Find out more by going to
www.challengers.ch and clicking
on 'Clubhouse Softball'.
The mens teams also play in finals at Schwammendingen (Heerenschüli)
this weekend so, if you're a baseball enthusiast, come along for
some spectator time! You can buy sausages and drinks at the field.
We hope to see some expats there and, if you'd like to play
fastpitch in the women's team, just send me an email offline. We'd
love to hear from you!!
Cheers
Bobbie
(Catcher and oldest player in Switzerland at 38!)
