Does anybody know the name of the stop of the Distribus in St Louis? Trying to get a timetable from the website and there are about 30 different stop options - I think its the no 4 bus, but need to know where to jump off!

It's called "Carrefour" (don't get confused - it's because it's the crossroads in St Louis, there's no supermarket of that name anywhere near by).

Adrian - thanks for organizing this. It's fantastic how on this forum people organize events like this... I find it very helpful as I have never been to the city before and it's nice to have someone who knows the area show you around.

Great! Will you be cycling with me, or making your own way over the border to St Louis, France?
PS Just to remind everyone ... bring Euros. Note that if you take the tram to the border and walk, it's a standard Basel tram and takes whatever passes you may have. If you take the bus from Schifflande (next to the Middle Bridge) then it's a French bus and you'll need to pay in Euros to the driver.

I'll actually be taking the skateboard. Ah! thanks for the advice about the public transportation. Looks like I would take the tram up to St-Louis Grenze and take my board from there. Great!
I'm planning on going to the RDV point for non-cyclists. Is the RDV point the pinpoint on the map link that you have up there exactly? I'm just a bit curious about how we'd find each other.

It's an accurate location (ie the bottom right corner of the carpark - the carpark of course turns into the market Saturday mornings). I'll hang around that corner but I may also wander off briefly to buy stuff
But as I know you're coming, I'll definitely make myself obvious and also talk to anyone carrying a skateboard.
Anyway, I actually look like my avatar!

Baby is a little post-jab peaky, so we will get there if we can, but don't wait around. We'll spot you if we are there.
Does market last all day, or just til lunchtime?

Adrian
Just thought I'd mention this...
I was there two weeks ago and the restaurant was full so it was lucky we made a reservation.
The menu has changed but the food was just simply great!

I used to be very casual about crossing the border and never bothered to take anything official, until one day I was asked for my passport and had to sheepishly admit that I didn't have anything on me. The border guard wasn't amused, telling me that I was crossing an 'International border' without any paperwork... its easy to forget this fact when all you were really doing was nipping across to pick up some butter croissants | | The following 2 users would like to thank Castro for this useful post: | |

Great. Thanks guys! Yeah I'll have my skateboard with me. And I am also Asian so that might let me stand out in Europe.

Asia is a big place. And you won't stand out much in the St Louis farmers' market as many Asians living in Basel have sussed it's a good place to get local, decent quality fruit and veg at normal (i.e. non-Swiss) prices.
But finding an Asian with a skateboard? Piece of piss.

I'll be cycling, but from looking at the map, if I've got it right, it seems that the route will take you right past the end of my road. So can I be lazy and join you at Zoo Bachletten tram stop?
I'll stand on the corner of Oberwillerstrasse and Steinenring with my black bike!

I don't know all these street names and places, but if google maps isn't lying then the junction you're on about is 30 seconds away from my meeting point. In the wrong direction.

| | | Re: St Louis coffee and food shopping (from Basel) oops map reading was never my strong point. I prefer paper ones that you can turn upside down to face the right direction to where you're going.
I'll just come to the meeting point you suggest.
