Jays has only 3 menus : meat ( lamb ), fish and vegetarian. The restaurant is not at all elegant ( for my taste at least ). And it's the most expensive Indian restaurant in town. I didn't like the food there but I come for social reasons.
But they don't mind hosting large groups of people, so maybe that's why JustRose organised it there.

The menu may be limited, but it changes weekly (or bi-weekly, not sure) so that there are always new options and flavors. The staff are friendly and accomodating- which is not often the case in Basel. The atmosphere is social and lively. These are some of the reasons i like Jay's.

I saw "meet up" and "Curry" in the same post and figured that my husband and I could meet some of you Basel fools. But I see that we're too late. It's ok though, as neither of us like really big groups anyway. Perhaps a second meet with the leftover people can be arranged at the "better" Indian place that solaris alluded to...  |

Hey DantesDame, keep an eye on the page because often times people change their rsvp closer to the date. However, if it doesn't workout this time then there will definately be other meetups soon!

I'd love to come! But like DantesDame I'm disappointed to see that there's a waiting list, and I like her suggestion of a second meetup. I moved to Basel a week ago and am itching to get out.
