This is a follow-on from discussions from our recent malaysian event - the beginnings of ideas for the next event.

In response to an idea for a garden satay party, I remembered that there was a nice garden behind Hot Wok and we could ask Ravi for an actual satay party (where the satays are cooking right there)...

But there were also some ideas about a pot-luck along some lake....


So if anyone has any comments or further ideas, bring them here.

Feel free to organise something and make an actual event. It seems that there are many malaysian food lovers out there...

I'm sooo annoyed I missed the event! Having just moved here and no internet for a whole month was killing me. Even though I live with my wife all the way in near Interlaken, we'd definitely come to the next event in Zurich!

to think of it, it is indeed like creeps. Anyone with a creeps equipment at home? but what about the batter...it has something sour in it (not sure what it is) which might not be available here. Hungry already.

You just need a flat pan to make crepes really.

But now the batter does sound complicated. Just looked at the recipe quickly.

Alot of effort for just 10 minutes of eating..

"Leave to ferment for eight to 10 hours" can the stomach hold on that long? lol

Capati would be easier.

How about Nasi Lemak.

On the other hand, Lemang or Ketupat, Otak-otak, ikan pangang.... stuff that can be put on grill....

are you suggesting a big malaysian cookout?

hey, they have plenty of ready-made tosai flour in the indian store. tried several and they seems good. one of my best friends made perfect tosai but sorry, cannot share her with you guys

Okay I missed the event at Hot Wok but what to do...I had other Malaysian makan2 invitation for free at the same time. So, the choice was obvious for me .

Hey, I can call several places for rental in Zurich. There are several nice places by the lake and in the hut. Any idea on which time period? Hopefully not June/July..am going back to Malaysia for the real food!

that's what happens when we talk about food on a hungry stomach :P

By the lake is great, summer is suppose to be nice here so we should really do something outdoors, or hike up a hill to picnic etc.

Not sure about the dates, I'll be here over the summer - so anytime is fine with me.. I only run away during winter.
