| | | Free Gym Membership (Work on a farm for the day)
Moved to a social event, times are loose, come and leave at any time to suit you.
We've had a few Forum members and other friends volunteer to come up here and help with some farm work for a day to shake off the city stress, experience country life and get some fresh air and exercise. So, I thought I'd arrange a farm day on Saturday 28th June for anyone wanting to know what life on a small farm is like.
Anyone is welcome and you can work to your own abilities, jobs needing help with include:
Hammering in fence posts (for the serious fit)
Weather protecting fence posts and other wood work
De-plaquing fields (digging up big weeds)
Mucking out the stables
Mowing and collecting hay
Humping hay & straw bales
Cleaning out the chicken house
There is no pay but we do eat very well and the stable fridge is full of beer and wine for when the BBQ gets fired up . Volunteers also go home with a goody bag . We're an hour's drive from Zurich and easily reached with public transport or I could collect a group from Sargans SBB for a faster train.
Some of our beautiful free range chooks! |

Sounds interesting - will have to consult my calendar and get back to you - not really into cleaning the chicken house, but may hump some hay |

I am interested too but a bit too far in advance to say yes or no at the moment.

DaveA, wherever your post has gone, I think that you will find yourself unable to attend as it is the same weekend as St Gallen fest.

I have a small query. I am aware that this thread was moved to social events, but why am I the starter of the thread now?
I think if people are aware that it is Mike's gig then they are more likely to attend, as by no stretch of the imagination can I be considered a quintessential farm girl.
If it was a trailer park convention... Now that would be an entirely different story

I think this sounds like great fun and the location looks beautiful. I've worked on farms as a kid so would love to offer my help but sadly just not around that weekend.

To those that can't make it this weekend, most Saturdays it's open house and weather permitting we are always working outside. PM me to check any dates.

That's because we are both highly intelligent, good looking, astute, intuitive and wired. Any other similarities are pure conjecture.
